Area of basic shapes

Today in maths we are learning about the area of basic shapes.

The area can be defined as the space occupied by a flat shape or the surface of an object.

- Rectangle

the area is measured with the formula w x h
w = width
h = Height

- Circle

The area of a circle is measured with a formula PI x R2

Circumference = 2 x pi x r

r = Radius

PI = 22/7 or 3.141

- Triangle

The area of a circle is measured with a formula 1/2 x b x h

b = base

h = verticle height
