In science, we have been learning about how to calculate the speed from distance/time
We used this to investigate the speed of cars on Carman road.
We did this by timing the cars from one pole to another, this distance was 50m. We timed 10 cars.
To figure out the speed, we divided the distance by the time the car took to cover the distance. Out of the 10 cars, 3 were speeding- as they were going faster than the speed limit of 50kmh. The fastest car was going 51.4kmh. The slowest car was driving 18.83kmh.
What colour the lights were affects how fast the cars are going. This is why they were either close to or over the speed limit or going slow.
I could have improved my experiment by taking more times, or to have a more confined area to see when to start/stop the timer.
