Buttons
The buttons was the other mothers trap, she was going to take her eyes so she can see. The buttons was a symbol of her being lost and she cant find her eyes. The buttons also was the nonhuman side of the other mother. Her goal was to take her eyes so she can lock her up until she dies
Key
The key was a service to change the plot. in the other dimension the other mother was trying to act normal and charming until she got the key. The key meant freedom and power. If Coraline didn't have they key she would not have escaped when she got attacked. If the other mother got the key she would have found her next prey.
Mirrors
The mirrors reveal the flaws of Coraline and shoes some ester eggs. The mirrors revealed the deadly world but it show'd it as a normal lovely world when i looked in the mirrors it made me feel creep because when you look at them there dark and creepy.
Food
When Coraline when to the other side the mother was cooking good food because she knows in the real world she has to cook her food because here real parents are to busy with work and too tired. so she went to the other world to see what was going on and the mother was making food and it looked to good
