We have been making lino art for the last couple weeks. Here are the steps of making a lino art.

1. Start on paper
2. Simple shapes
3. black and white
4. have 4-6 goes at ideas

Design process

- Ideas 4 sketchers-thumbnails

-Refine ideas-2 sketchers e.g make sure its a good idea + fits lino

- Final drawing- maybe with changes
- When you have made you final design you will
make it dark enough so when you flip if on the lino you can see your drawing
you push hard on your drawing so when you take you paper of you can see you art on the lino.
- Then you cut your name and your background (only if you want a background)

Homeroom 8GB

This week Mrs Gibson gave us a challenge it was the 100 words challenge. I gave it a shot. It was about a mysterious creature in the dark forest. Here is my story

Terry was walking through the forest. Then all of a sudden something black ran past really fast. Terry didn't really get to see what it was until he saw a black figure behind a tree. He merged closer and closer till the mysterious figure disappeared from the tree and took him to a dead person. Then Terry went to grab his phone it wasn't there he said “ I dropped my phone somewhere “ he ran back and found it. He called the ambo and when the ambo got there the black figure sucked the life out of all of them.

method:
1. 1/2 fill a petri dish with water
2. carefully place 4 differently coloured skittles evenly spaced around the outside of the petri dish

hypothesis: I think that all the colours are gonna go into the middle then they will mix to a different colour

scientific reasoning:
the skittles are made wit sugar and and food colour. As the sugar dissolve the food colouring move over the water with sugar until it cannot move  any further because of the other colour

Limerick

My Limerick 

My scooter has bar

We had to make a limarick. My topic for my limerick is about scootering because I ride my scooter everyday. So I thought to use scootering for my topic. The way the Limerick works is the first 2 sentences rime the the second 2 sentences rhymes and the last sentence rhymes with the first two sentences.

Aim: To see if coke explodes when a Mentos lolly is dropped into it using different temperatures and different kinds of coke.

Hypothesis:

We can do better: We need to try several experiements to see which one works best

Equipment:

Ruler

Beaker

Thermometer

Coke Mentos

Measuring flask

Method:

Stage 1: ( All groups)

1. Add 150ml of coke to a measuring flask
2. Place the flask in the sink.
3. Drop in 1 mentos a watch the effect.

Stage 2: 

Group 1
Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 75 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the hieght it reachs

Group 2
Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 45 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the hieght it reach

Group 3
Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 30 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the height it reach

Group 4
Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 15 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the height it reach

Findings:

More investigations:

1. Does it work better with hot Coke( group) , warm Coke ( group) or cold Coke?( group)
2. Use Diet , Normal and Coke zero.
3. Does crushed Mentos work better than whole Mentos?( group)
